Martin Kirke is a Mediator and Arbitrator with ACAS and has resolved many workplace disputes and conflicts. He also works as a consultant resolving conflicts and complaints in the workplace. Martin has built a reputation of trust and integrity with both employers and unions. He has worked in sensitive and complex situations where there is media interest.
Martin has a first degree in Behavioural Science and a Masters in HR Management from Cardiff University. He is a Fellow of the CIPD where he is also a member of the Employee Relations Advisory Group developing best practice professional expertise. He is a qualified coach through the International Coaching Federation.
Recently appointed as a Non-Executive Director at NHS Professionals, within the Department of Health and Social Care, after completing seven years as Deputy Chair in an NHS Trust. He is also Deputy Chair of the student ombudsman which resolves disputes between universities, colleges and students across 800 institutions in England and Wales. In all these roles he was the lead non-exec for Diversity and Inclusion.
He also has a role resolving disputes between employers and unions as an Employer Member of the Central Arbitration Committee which is a tribunal of the Department of Business and Trade.
Martin’s corporate career included roles as HR Global Operations Director for Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific at BP and Vice President Resource Management Europe, Middle East and Africa for Ericsson Telecoms, based in Sweden. He also held HR and Change roles at Serco, Post Office, Natural Environment Research Council and British Airways Group. He was a Change Consultant in the Cabinet Office and played a leading role in HR for the London Olympics in 2012 with Transport for London.
